Getting a Developmental Edit - #164 - Your Book Is Trash

#164 – Your Book Is Trash

It’s 2022. Lindsay is taking a break from the podcast and writing, taking a year off to accomplish some other things on her list. But Jerry has recruited someone else to join him. Because as new authors, we should be talking to each other, the New Author Podcast will have a new co-host. Joining Jerry most weeks will be Rich Kacy. Listen as Jerry and Rich (and sometimes Lindsay) talk about their writing process, getting a developmental edit, their publishing hopes, and anything else that pops into their head while talking into a microphone.

If you’re an existing author or are writing your first book, come and listen to us because we were in the same boat as you. We’ve made mistakes so you don’t have to! Come hear our successes and our mistakes, find out where we spend money and where we shouldn’t have spent money. We’ll tell you everything we did to be successful (or fail…as the case may be). And you’ll hear a nice conversation on Rich’s feelings toward getting a developmental edit.

This week, you can hear things talked about such as:

  • Facebook Ads
  • Lots of TV Show talk
  • Amazon Ads
  • Screen Doors
  • Can Mysteries be Formulaic?
  • A Plotting Update from Rich
  • A Financial Update from Jerry
  • A Bathroom Remodel
  • and so much more!
